The Horta Museum is situated at 23 and 25 Rue Americaine in Saint-Gilles, where the architect Victor Horta (1861-1947) constructed his own house and studio between 1898 and 1901, at the very height of Art Nouveau. The original interior decoration of the house itself has largely been preserved; its mosaics, leaded windows, furniture and murals form a harmonious ensemble, finished in the minutest detail.
